The Company
Mei Heong Yuen (味香园) Food Industries Pte Ltd is a leading Singapore food company specializing in the manufacturing, packaging, distribution and export of food products under the long-established FARMER BRAND.
The founder, Mr James Lee, is the second generation pioneering its global presence and product development. For over thirty years, we have been sourcing products from Southeast Asia, from Singapore to Malaysia, as well as manufacturing peanuts at our brick-and-mortar in Jiangmen, China, where we have cultivated a strong and reliable staff who are skillfully trained to maintain our legacy’s premium taste and quality.
From Malaysia to Singapore to Your Cabinet
Mei Heong Yuen (味香园) Food Industries began roasting peanuts in Malaysia in the 1940s. By the 1950s, Farmer Brand peanuts were in every Singaporean household—especially during Lunar New Year. Our flagship store in Singapore's Chinatown is a heritage landmark.
The second generation, Mr. James Lee, expanded distribution to the U.S. and Canada, earning the "Singapore Chinatown Heritage Brand" recognition in 2004.
The Manufacturing
Our facility in Jiangmen, China (the region where modern oyster sauce was born) combines traditional fermentation methods with Singapore food safety standards. Our facility applies Singapore food safety law (SFA standards) in the heart of China's traditional sauce-making region. We maintain HACCP, Halal, and FDA registration. Every batch is tasted against our 1940s benchmark.
Lucky Farmer Launches in 2010
Using our roasted peanut base—critical for authentic satay and curry pastes—we launched Lucky Farmer to bottle the sauces James Lee grew up eating, without the all-day prep.
